INNOVATION IN THE DIGITAL AGE
As human beings evolve, so does technology and in this course has come into contact with different interfaces, which, as it uses them, lives an experience that makes life easier in every way. This is where people understand, adopt and use interfaces. To the extent that they understand it and know what it is for and it wants to test them out of necessity and when making contact they adopt it and then use it.With the passage of time, interfaces are becoming easier to adopt and use, the problem is that there are more and more options of these and this is where Innovation is born. Then the process of connecting between the user and the interfaces:
- Know: Interfaces are the point of contact between a user and that object, system, or application that are part of an electronic device.
- Consider: The user’s ability – based on their psychographic profile – to choose which is the best option to meet their needs.
- Adopt: The way the interface or device has been designed and the function you have is that you decide to test it.
- Use: Uses it and if you like it it becomes true to it.
When using it the human being tends to explore more needs, this is where the industry that seeks to innovate takes on paper to give it something easier and more natural.
Innovation
Innovation is born from the consequence of every experience that human beings have with technology and its different interfaces, seeks to give more user experiences that in the end manage to be as natural as possible and meet the needs of the human being. This innovation is not about emerging ideas, but structured processes based on the Design Thinking technique to generate measurable results. You have to think, innovate and think are complex terms that are based on resorting to memories, experiences or lived experiences that generate references, that is, to think is to look for references and connect them. By knowing the references of people you can join new things, taking into account the cultural context and giving different and creative solutions to the same need.
“Innovation: It is the creative action – which must produce tangible results – human, individual or group, that generates novelty or change within a specific context through the breakdown or transgression of a paradigm of theoretical, technological, social, functional, technical or process type, turning such novelty or change into a new paradigm to overcome” – Luis Bermúdezstan Cricho (October 2016)
In general, innovation is a very short paradigm, as goes hand in hand with the needs of man, always evolving and overlaying one innovation with another. People don’t buy technology but experiences, so every time you want to try something new it’s where the industry seeks to innovate. There are different myths about innovation, but the reality is that it comes from minds with discipline that design strategies with the challenge of understanding the needs of the user and designing solutions based on them, they do not necessarily have to be new things but give the change and progress to something that already exists, that is why innovation can be particular , contextual or universal.Contextual innovation arises from something new or unusual within the circumstances or area where it is being applied, for example: the transmeter of Guatemala City at the time was an innovation within the perimeter of the capital city but it was not for other cities or countries of the world that already had this means of transport. Universal innovation arises when something is entirely new to the whole world, for example at the time it was an iPhone for its physical characteristics, functions, software, among others.Let us remember that an innovation is always accompanied by a strategy that accompanies it is part of a process that starts from discovering the problem and understanding it, then insights are classified and designed in the short, medium and long term to be able to give concrete and real solutions.
For this it is important to take into account the user by ensuring that the innovation meets all the usability parameters that the user needs, as well as including the “non-user” that this is a user in the same category but not of the product or brand in question, his opinion serves to create more lines of innovation since he gives his views because he is not a user.
Learning that all the information that users give is valuable, the insight may come from to generate the best of all innovations, making things mean something to the user by sticking to their psychographic profile. The human being is full of references that make up his personality, lifestyle, interests, opinions among other factors of his psychographic profile, that is why he is constantly looking for innovations that move him to be updated to simplify his life. It is important to understand that human beings will never be satisfied with what industry offers them, which is why innovation will always exist.
As we have said before, innovation is a powerful concept, it is what moves the technology industry to move forward, it means to be constantly changing. It is what is not part of the traditional, make you live the most real and above all natural experience.
Observations:
Although technology and industry will always innovate and offer solutions attached to reality, it will never meet the need of the human being and his real experiences, this is because every time the human being becomes demanding but above all he is always in constant search of real experiences, not forced or not accompanied by artificial intelligence because these are our roots , we are real beings configured to live real situations.Artificial intelligence is not wrong, the problem is that we do not feed it properly; Innovation is powerful but we must always take into account the human factor in order to be able to reduce these kinds of errors, since the users of all interfaces are human beings who are aware that nothing is perfect but in our desire to want everything immediately when using artificial intelligence we believe that it will be.
